Wild Purple Scones
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cups (7 ounces) whole white wheat flour
- 1 and 1/2 cups (7 ounces) whole wheat pastry flour
- 2 and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/3 cup raw sugar, plus extra for topping (organic turbinado)
- Zest of 1 large lemon
- 3/4 cup (6 ounces) unsalted butter, chilled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1 and 1/4 cups frozen black raspberries
- About 1 cup buttermilk, plus extra for glazing
