- 1 cup melted butter

- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 4 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 3 tablespoons crushed salted pistachios (optional)
