- 3/4 cup Dutch process cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
Buttercream
- 2 sticks salted butter, slightly softened
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure almond extract
Ganache
- 4 ounces semi sweet chocolate, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
- 2 cups sweetened, shredded coconut, for garnish
